Privacy

Agonistes is not open yet. The only personal data this site handles is what you type into the waitlist form. This page says exactly what that is, where it goes and how to get it removed.

Who is responsible

Agonistes is a project of Houthoofd Digital (Lukas Houthoofd), Peperstraat 24, 9800 Deinze, Belgium. VAT BE 1038.483.186. Houthoofd Digital is the controller for the data described here.

For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data, write to lukas@houthoofddigital.be.

What is collected

When you submit the waitlist form:

  • Your email address. Required — without it there is no way to contact you about access.
  • The sport you train for. Optional. Run, ride, tri or other.
  • A referral tag. Only if you arrived on a link carrying one, such as ?ref=newsletter. It records where a signup came from, not who you are.

Our hosting provider also records ordinary server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent — as any web server does. These are used to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.

No cookies, no analytics, no tracking

This site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising pixels and no fingerprinting, and stores nothing in your browser. Because nothing is written to or read from your device, no cookie banner is required.

No third-party server is contacted while you read the page. The form provider’s script loads only at the moment you submit the form — if you never sign up, your visit stays between your browser and our host.

Why, and on what legal basis

The purpose is narrow: to email you when early access opens, and to understand which sports the waiting list represents so the first release suits it.

The legal basis is your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You give it by submitting the form and you can withdraw it at any time, which is as easy as replying to any email we send or writing to the address above. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before you withdrew.

We do not use this data for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and there is no automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.

Who else processes it

These providers act as processors on our instructions, under a data processing agreement:

  • Vercel — hosting and delivery of this site, and server logs. The deployment runs in Vercel’s Frankfurt region. Vercel Inc. is established in the United States, so some processing and support may involve a transfer outside the EEA.
  • Tally — the form that records your signup, and the list we read it back from.

Where personal data reaches a country outside the EEA, the transfer relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as set out in each provider’s data processing terms.

Nobody else receives your data. We would only disclose it if the law required it.

How long it is kept

Until Agonistes opens and you have had the chance to take up an invitation, and at the latest 24 months after you signed up. If the product never launches, the list is deleted.

Ask to be removed and it is deleted, normally within a few days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • hand it to you, or another provider, in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent.

Write to lukas@houthoofddigital.be. We answer within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority — the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données — at dataprotectionauthority.be, or with the authority where you live.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects what happens to data already collected, we will email the list rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
